Isle of Man Transport are pleased to announce that all timetabled services due to leave Lord Street Bus Station will resume now that all the pavement works have been completed.

Due to ongoing road works on Main Road Onchan, Services 13 & 23 and School Services 38 & 42 will be unable to serve Windermere Drive, Groudle Road, Harbour Road and Eskdale Road from 09:00 Wednesday 25th January until approximately 12:00 Thursday 26th January or until works are completed.

Buses will be diverted up and down Royal Avenue.

UPDATE: These Road works has now been extended until approximately 13:00 on Saturday28 January 2012

Commencing from 0900 on Monday 16th January 2012, and until completed, due to the pavement works beside the bus shelters in Lord Street all departures on Services 3, 3A, 12, 12A,  3, 3A, 12, 12A, 22, 22A, 23, 23B, 25 operating via Ridgeway Street and Prospect Hill are not able to depart from Shelter D but depart from beside the Salvation Army Citadel in Lord Street and then via the Town Hall stop in Ridgeway Street.

All other scheduled departures from Douglas continue to use Lord Street but from time to time need to transfer to another shelter due to the pavement works.

Douglas Arrivals Services 3, 12, 12A, 23 & 23B 3, 12, 12A, 23 & 23B arriving in Douglas via Peel Road and continuing via Prospect Hill terminate at the Salvation Army Citadel and therefore do not serve Victoria Street and the shelters in Lord Street.

With effect from Monday 16th January 2012, until Friday 20th January (or until the gas works are completed) Alexandra Road is closed from 0900 to 1630 between the Victoria Road and Malew Street junctions.

During the closure periods buses are unable to serve the bus stops at School Hill or Castletown By-Pass.

Due to gas connection works, from Wednesday 11th January until Sunday 15th January 2012 (or until the works are completed) all traffic is only able to travel in a northerly direction on Minorca Hill.

Therefore during this restriction, Service 13 journeys travel via Captains Hill, Glen Road, Minorca Hill and Minorca (the opposite way to normal).

The 0902 journey from Old Laxey to Douglas commences at Laxey School and does not serve Glen Road.

Due to the next phase of pavement works, with effect from 0600 on Sunday 8th January until 1800 on 1st March 2012 (or until works are completed) a one-way system is to be in operation in the upward direction on Prospect Hill between Athol Street and Circular Road.

Adjustments to the Island’s bus timetable will be implemented on Monday 9th January 2012.

Many changes, including increased frequencies and additional services, reflect customer usage and demand; others will enable Bus Vannin to reduce its costs whilst seeking to minimise inconvenience to passengers.

The bus stop formerly at Station Shops on Peel Road has been moved to the other side of Banks Hill to outside Clinches. This has been done on an experimental basis by the Department of Infrastructure to try and improve traffic flows through the Lord Street/Peel Road/Athol Street/banks Hill junction.
